Arcimboldo
Arcimboldo grandfather was an archbishop, his father - an artist.
Giuseppe began his career in the workshops of the Duomo, creating stained glass windows and frescoes with scenes from the lives of the saints.
It is difficult to say where and with whom he studied. In any case, was influenced by Leonardo da Vinci, it is known that Arcimboldo served cartoons for tapestries in Ferrara. In Prague, he was a designer and director of festive performances.
Was employed by the Habsburgs in Austria and Bohemia (1562-1587), first - with the imperial court of Ferdinand I in Vienna - as a portrait painter-copyist, then, when the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian becomes II (1564), Arcimboldo - an artist at the court.
He was perceived as friends of people with a universal erudition and highly developed creative genius. Most of his contemporaries, also known people who looked at him with admiration because of his talent and his creativity not only in painting but also in organizing the games, weddings, coronations, processions. In fact, he became artistic director of the Emperor Maximilian II.
He answered at the court of architecture and theater decoration of all activities. At the same time, he - an engineer, creator of the fountain, takes part in the base of the Museum of Art. Arcimboldo became the main organizer of the tournaments, fairs and festivals of luxury for aristocrats, scientists and artists. All this, to glorify the emperor to strengthen his political power and entertain people, to present the monarch as a hero.
With the support of Maximilian, he performed the first version of the series "Seasons", which was presented to the Emperor at New Year's Day (1569).
In 1570 Arcimboldo was sent to Prague to Rudolph, the son of Maximilian, to design a complex theatrical performance for Maximilian (the plot - a mixed classical mythology and Czech) and remained to serve Rudolf II, when he ascended the throne of the Hapsburgs (1575) after the death of Maximilian II.Pri it , besides, he invented hydraulic machines.
Eleven years old, who served as artist Rudolf II, was probably the peak of his career. The Emperor is extremely loved and appreciated Arcimboldo.
Arcimboldo in those years, wrote the second version of the Seasons "(1573), dedicated to Emperor red leather folio containing 150 drawings pen and ink (1585).
In 1587, after numerous requests from Arcimboldo Rudolf II allowed him to return to his native Milan. In the same year, Arcimboldo was asked the emperor to continue to write for him, although he no longer served at the court. In 1591, written probably the most famous of his paintings - "Flora" (1591) and "Vertumn (1590-1591), which he sent to Prague.
The following year, July 11, 1593, the painter died.
"Vertumn was particularly valued by society and especially by Rudolf. This is a - half-length portrait of the emperor, represented as the Roman god of seasons, vegetation, and conversion. Rudolph consists entirely of gorgeous fruit, flowers and vegetables. Fascinated by these pictures of Rudolf II generously awarded Arcimboldo.
There are opinions that a large number of paintings were written between 1564 and 1576, but only very few of them are known to us. Retained little of his work: This is usually portraits of breast, in profile, at least - full face. Images are composed of fruit, vegetables, flowers, crustaceans, and other musical instruments, books, etc. Those are stylized, very clever arrangement of elements in the space creates the effect of form and chiaroscuro. Allegories of the seasons: "Summer" and "Winter", 1563 (Museum of Fine Arts, Vienna), "Spring" (Academy of San Fernando, Madrid); elements - "Fire" in 1566 and "Water" in Vienna Museum of Fine Arts. Figure in the Louvre Museum - "Chef" - is composed of kitchen items.
Arcimboldo was very popular during his lifetime, which explains a lot of imitations of his style.

Storyline
Dawn grows up in the shadow of a nuclear power plant. In high school, while her biology class studies evolution, she realizes she may have a hidden curse, an "adaptation." She lives with her mom, step-father, and hard-edged step-brother. She likes Tobey, a guy at school, and he likes her. She takes a pledge to remain chaste until marriage, so they date in groups, watch G-rated films, and don't kiss, but the power of teen hormones is great, so temptation beckons. Dawn has an admirer in Ryan, and when she breaks it off unexpectedly with Tobey, she turns to Ryan for help. Will he be her mythical hero and rescue her? Or can she find her way as her own hero, turning the curse into an asset?

Systems Biology and Synthetic Biology
Pengcheng Fu and Sven Panke, "Systems Biology and Synthetic Biology"
Wi-ley-AI-ChE | 2009 | ISBN: 0471767786 | 658 pages | File type: PDF | 6 mb
Systems Biology And Synthetic Biology
Discover how systems and engineering theories combine to solve complex problems in biology
Systems biology and synthetic biology have emerged as two complementary approaches that invite the application of engineering principles. Emphasizing the similarity between biology and engineering at the systems level, Systems Biology and Synthetic Biology demonstrates the benefits of integrating systems and engineering theories to understand and solve complexbiology problems. Readers discover how synthetic biology technologies are used in systemsbiology to study biological systems. At the same time, readers learn how synthetic biologydepends on information gleaned from systems biology approaches.
Systems Biology and Synthetic Biology consists of twenty chapters, each one written by one or more noted experts. Contributions are based on a thorough examination and analysis of the literature as well as the authors' own firsthand experience in the lab. Among the topics covered are:
High-throughput technologies and functional genomics
From recombinant genes to recombinant genomes for systems biology
Mathematical modeling of genetic regulatory networks: stress responses in Escherichia coli
Synthetic biology: putting engineering into bioengineering
The synthetic approach for regulatory and metabolic circuits
Potential applications of synthetic biology in marine microbial functional ecology andbiotechnology
Ending with a chapter dedicated to outstanding issues in systems and synthetic biology, the book points the direction to new research efforts and new solutions.
By emphasizing the link between biology and engineering at the systems level, this book helps practitioners and students in biology, bioengineering, chemical engineering, and molecularbiology develop innovative ways to combine systems and engineering theories to advance their own research.
Roadmaps and Revelations: Finding the Road to Business Success on Route 101 uses an entertaining storyline to walk you through the daunting process of creating a successfulstrategy. Sprinkled with practical examples and workable solutions for business executives, managers, and consultants, this motivating fable will put you on track toward creating a strategy for sustainable success.
